Get Duolingo cheaper (from $4/month, top offer for 2026, without VPN)

Duolingo cheaper

Duolingo makes learning languages enjoyable with short lessons, clear goals and plenty of gamification. While I like the concept, I found the regular price of Super Duolingo too high for a long time. That’s why I looked for a legal alternative that would let me keep using my existing account. That’s how I ended up with GamsGo – I’ve been saving about half the price for several months now!

Super Duolingo cheaper via GamsGo – Top offer

GamsGo is a service that allows you to purchase various digital subscriptions, including Super Duolingo, at a discounted price. It works by using price advantages resulting from promotions, special conditions or family models, for example, and passing them on to end customers.

At Duolingo, this is achieved in practice via a family plan. For $50 (equivalent to approximately $4 per month), you get a 12-month place in an existing family subscription. At GamsGo, this is called ‘1 slot (shared)’. This is permitted at Duolingo. The family plan can also be shared with friends, even those who live in the same household. You keep your own Duolingo account, and your progress, streaks and settings are preserved. You are not ‘moved’, but your profile is simply upgraded to ‘Super’. Other people on the family plan cannot see your learning progress or control your account.

How activation via GamsGo works

  1. Complete your purchase on GamsGo:
Select your subscription and pay (e.g., by card or one of the other payment methods offered).
  2. Enter Duolingo data:
Enter your Duolingo username in GamsGo.
  3. Confirm the invitation from Duolingo:
You will receive an email from Duolingo with an invitation link to the family subscription. Click on the link to accept the invitation.
  4. Super is active:
Immediately after that, your account will be “Super.” This can be recognized by the Super badge and the fact that ads and limitations are gone.

What exactly is Duolingo?

Duolingo is a language-learning app (also available as a browser extension) that breaks the learning process down into short, fun activities.

  • Lessons are usually short (often 2-10 minutes) and alternate between translation, listening comprehension, vocabulary, pronunciation, etc.
  • Motivation comes from XP, streaks, levels, leaderboards, and daily goals.
  • There is a free version (with ads and limitations) and a paid version (e.g., Super), which removes ads and unlocks extra features, among other things.
  • Duolingo is great for beginners and for keeping up with your studies on a daily basis-but to become “truly fluent,” you usually need additional practice (speaking, writing, real-life content), depending on your goals.

VPN trick no longer works

In the past, you could simply connect to a cheaper country (such as India or Turkey) via a VPN and complete Duolingo at a lower cost. However, this no longer works. I tested this myself and found that, when paying, a local payment method was required, such as a credit card issued in the respective country.
